With 3 spacious bedrooms (2 king size and a large twin room) there is enough room to bring the extended family. We provide a cot and highchair as well as stair gates across the top and bottom of the main flight for our younger guests.

The bedrooms all have vaulted ceilings and stunning views across to Dartmoor.
Each king size room has access to its own terrace, ideal for enjoying your morning coffee in peace, or catching up with news or planning the day ahead.
Both king rooms have direct access to a bathroom - one with it's own private en-suite shower room, and the other with a Jack and Jill door to the main bathroom.

Fully modernised luxury family bathroom, complete with a walk-in rain shower and a slipper bath. Relax back and soak in the tub whilst enjoying the countryside views through the open window.
There is a second en-suite shower room and toilet off one of the king size bedrooms. Perfect for larger families.

Electric hob, oven, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Enjoy some country cooking in the fully equipped kitchen, and relax around the over-sized table. Dine out locally, it's a pleasant country walk at just over a mile to bar/food/entertainment or a 6 minute drive to the village pub.
THE BARN
If you’re looking for peace and tranquility in a rural setting, you’ll love it here! Relax with the whole family at this 150 yr+ detached barn conversion set in 0.4 acres of private grounds with uninterrupted country views across to Dartmoor.
Crooked Barn is a former cattle barn dating back to the 1800s, lovingly converted to high standards and comfort, and full of character with vaulted ceilings and beams, and Russian pine floor boards throughout. The barn walls are thick stone, retaining heat in the winter and creating a welcome coolness in the summer.
You’re right in the heart of the glorious English countryside, yet 15 minutes to town, and 25 minutes to the coast. There are lovely country walks from the door - doggy friends love it too, we welcome up to four.
Positioned on the Devon/Cornwall border with stunning beaches at Bude and Widemouth Bay, reached in around 25 minutes, as well as Polzeath, Rock, Padstow, Port Isaac, Tintagel and Eden in under an hour. Easy access to both Devon and Cornwall - best of both counties!
"My family had a very cosy stay at Crooked Barn. We loved the character filled place and it had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Beds were great and the living and kitchen spaces were comfortable and roomy. The area is beautiful and very quiet with some great walks right on the doorstep, as well as a farm right next door selling grass fed beef meat packs. Sue gave us lots of helpful info and was extremely responsive as a host. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone wishing a pretty cottage stay. I'd love to come back in the Spring!"

"We stayed at Crooked Barn at the end of May/June 2022, the cottage has a real warm homely feel to it from the minute you walk in. It was a nice touch to have a lovely welcoming basket with treats for the kids and our dog; milk in the fridge and logs for the fire. This lovely country cottage is ideal for a peaceful get away with stunning views (especially from your bedroom windows when you wake up in the morning) and relaxing garden. Only a 20 min drive or so to Bude beach and 5 min drive from a local super market if needed..."
